The second reading from the Letter of Saint James starts with a bang: “Where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every foul practice". I just read up on the psychological factors, causes and consequences of jealousy and selfish ambition and, I do have to say, that a psychiatrist couldn’t say it better than how it is stated in the letter of James.
