From the Christian Perspective / Desde la perspectiva cristiana

There are many social issues that beckon our attention while so many voices of opinions vie for our attention. It can be a bit overwhelming at times, especially when we consider the complexities of each issue and their effects. It’s important to bring the Christian perspective unto the discussion of these social issues. It’s also important because the Christian perspective otherwise. Furthermore, it is important for the Christian to be aware of how faith informs reason.

Sometimes I hesitate to comment on social issues because my comments are simply my comments that come from my perspective. I certainly do not feel the need to impose my opinions and perspectives on anyone. And there is always the chance that some may read something into it that really doesn’t exist. Some social issues are sensitive and complicated, and they certainly merit our educated attention.

Wouldn’t it be great if we had a group of people that would be interested in discussing social issues from the Christian perspective and share the conversation with the rest of the parish community? I think that would add so much more meaning to our Christian journey as a community. It would enrich us, challenge us, and educate us in ways that a single person may not be able to do. The inclusive voice of the community is powerful. It’s power to enrich, challenge, and educate can create a wave of Christian energy and renewal in any community.

I will take it from there and bring the interested people together to see what God is up to.
I do hope and pray we have such interested people. I believe that such conversations can help us is considering social issues from the Light of Christ’s Good News.

Hay muchos temas sociales que llaman nuestra atención mientras muchas voces de opinión compiten por nuestra atención. A veces puede resultar un poco abrumador, especialmente cuando consideramos las complejidades de cada tema y sus efectos. Es importante llevar la perspectiva cristiana al debate de estos temas sociales. También es importante porque la perspectiva cristiana es diferente. Además, es importante que el cristiano sea consciente de cómo la fe informa a la razón.

A veces dudo en comentar sobre temas sociales porque mis comentarios son simplemente mis comentarios que surgen de mi perspectiva. Ciertamente no siento la necesidad de imponer mis opiniones y perspectivas a nadie. Y siempre existe la posibilidad de que alguien pueda leer algo que realmente no existe. Algunos temas sociales son delicados y complicados, y ciertamente merecen nuestra atención informada.

¿No sería fantástico si tuviéramos un grupo de personas que estuvieran interesadas en discutir temas sociales desde la perspectiva cristiana y compartir la conversación con el resto de la comunidad parroquial? Creo que eso agregaría mucho más significado a nuestro camino cristiano como comunidad. Nos enriquecería, nos desafiaría y nos educaría de maneras que una sola persona no podría hacer. La voz inclusiva de la comunidad es poderosa. Su poder para enriquecer, desafiar y educar puede crear una ola de energía cristiana y renovación en cualquier comunidad.

Por lo tanto, si algo de esto tiene sentido para usted y lo encuentra interesante, o capta su atención y curiosidad, hágamelo saber.
Me gustaría ofrecer a nuestra comunidad una oportunidad y una experiencia de este tipo. Llámeme a la oficina parroquial o deje su nombre e información de contacto con la secretaria de la parroquia, haciéndome saber que está interesado en explorar esta oportunidad. A partir de ahí, me encargaré de reunir a las personas interesadas para ver qué está haciendo Dios.
Espero y rezo por que tengamos personas tan interesadas. Creo que este tipo de conversaciones pueden ayudarnos a considerar los problemas sociales desde la Luz de la Buena Nueva de Cristo.
