Hace dos semanas, el Papa Francisco abrió un nuevo capítulo en la historia de nuestra Iglesia Católica.
Se llama "El camino sinodal". Este es un proceso que tendrá lugar en la Iglesia Católica en todo el mundo.
Todas las diócesis del mundo están llamadas a participar creando foros de escucha, discusión y
discernimiento mutuos sobre diversos asuntos de nuestra Iglesia, en los que los laicos participarán
activamente. El fruto de esta consulta se recopilará en un documento en 2022. Todo esto es en preparación
para el Sínodo de los Obispos que se celebrará en Roma en 2023.
Es mi deseo que nosotros, como Pueblo de Dios de Santa Julia, participemos activamente. A medida que
recibamos más orientación de la Diócesis, se la comunicaré a todos ustedes. Sé que nuestra participación
activa nos dará la bendición de unirnos a todas nuestras hermanas y hermanos católicos en todo el mundo y
nos permitirá levantar la voz en los importantes asuntos que serán discutidos. Es el deseo del Santo Padre, el
Papa Francisco, que se escuche la voz del pueblo.
El Consejo Pastoral de nuestra parroquia encabezará la organización del proceso consultivo dentro de
nuestra parroquia. Junto a mí, los miembros del Consejo Pastoral crearán la mejor manera para que todos
podamos participar. Espero que muchos de nosotros lo hagamos porque sus conocimientos, opiniones y
discernimiento son de gran valor para la vida de la Iglesia Católica.
En cada sesión del Concilio Vaticano II, los obispos del mundo comenzarían con la misma oración: “Adsumus
Sancte Spiritus” (Estamos ante Ti, Espíritu Santo). También comenzamos nuestra participación en este
importante momento en nuestra Iglesia Católica con esta misma oración:
“Estamos ante Ti, Espíritu Santo, mientras nos reunimos en Tu Nombre.
Contigo solo para guiarnos, siéntete como en casa en nuestros corazones;
Enséñanos el camino que debemos seguir y cómo debemos seguirlo.
Somos débiles y pecadores; no nos dejes promover el desorden.
No dejes que la ignorancia nos lleve por el camino equivocado ni la parcialidad influya
en nuestras acciones. Encontremos en Ti nuestra unidad para que podamos caminar juntos
hacia la vida eterna y no se desvíe del camino de la verdad y la justicia. Todo esto te lo pedimos,
que estás obrando en todo lugar y tiempo, en la comunión del Padre y del Hijo, por los siglos de los siglos.
Amén.
Oro para que aquí en St. Julia cosechemos una rica cosecha de bendiciones gracias a nuestra participación.
Que la voz del Pueblo de Dios se eleve y se escuche en beneficio de nuestra Iglesia y de la humanidad.

Every diocese in the world is called to participate by creating forums for mutual listening, discussion and discernment about various matters of our Church, in which the laity will actively participate. The fruit of this consultation will be gathered into a document in 2022. This is all in preparation for the Synod of Bishops that will be held in Rome in 2023.
It is my desire that we, as the People of God of St. Julia, actively participate. As we receive further guidance from the Diocese, I will communicate it with all of you. I know that our active participation will give us all the blessing of uniting ourselves to all our Catholic sisters and brothers throughout the world and will empower us lift our voices in the important matters that will be discussed. It is the desire of the Holy Father, Pope Francis, that the voice of the people be heard.
The Pastoral Council of our parish will spearhead the organization of the consultative process within our parish. Together with me, the members of the Pastoral Council will create the best way for all of us to participate. It is my hope that many of us will do so because your insights, opinions, and discernment is of great value to the life of the Catholic Church.
At every session of the Second Vatican Council the bishops of the world would begin with the same prayer: “Adsumus Sancte Spiritus” (We stand before You, Holy Spirit). We also begin our participation in this important moment in our Catholic Church with this same prayer:
“We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your Name.
With You alone to guide us, make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life
and not stray from the way of Truth and what is right.
All this we ask You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the Father and the Son, forever and ever. Amen.”
I pray that we here at St. Julia will reap a rich harvest of blessings because of our active participation. May the voice of the People of God be raised and heard for the benefit of our Church and humanity.
