Who do you follow?

In our day to day tasks and travels, we meet many people, we do many things but in the end, what person or thing do we commit our life to?  What actually takes most of our precious time each day, or commits our thoughts and actions away from what is true to our heart and existence?

• In the literal world of sheepherding (yes shepherds actually still exist today), the relationship between the sheep and their shepherd is extraordinary.
• As a career shepherd, it is imperative that sheep do not ignore their shepherd. They teach them and gain their trust. Like children, the sheep rely on the shepherd for guidance, protection, and care.
• Predators constantly watch each of the sheep and wait for the perfect opportunity to steal or kill them.
• Sheep are naturally inclined to follow their shepherd’s voice and learn to trust them, recognizing them as a source of safety and protection. They respond to the shepherd’s calls and learn to differentiate their voice from others. In this way, they are protected.
• In our lives, it is typical for us to reach out to God in desperate times, but then we carry on with distractions and life as if He is not there.
• As the sheep that wanders off, He is still within you, watching over you and guiding you.
• It is up to you to learn how to hear His voice. It is up to you to shut away the distractions and see what purpose He has for you in life.
• Until then, we are lost sheep, shepherd less and exposed to predators.

¿A quién sigues?

• En el mundo literal del pastoreo (sí, los pastores aún existen hoy en día), la relación entre las ovejas y su pastor es extraordinaria.
• Como pastor de profesión, es imperativo que las ovejas no ignoren a su pastor. Les enseñan y se ganan su confianza. Como niños, las ovejas dependen del pastor para recibir guía, protección y cuidado.
• Los depredadores vigilan constantemente a cada una de las ovejas y esperan la oportunidad perfecta para robarlas o matarlas.
• Las ovejas tienden naturalmente a seguir la voz de su pastor y aprenden a confiar en él, reconociéndolo como una fuente de seguridad y protección. Responden a los llamados del pastor y aprenden a diferenciar su voz de la de los demás. De esta manera, están protegidas.
• En nuestras vidas, es típico que recurramos a Dios en momentos de desesperación, pero luego seguimos con las distracciones y la vida como si Él no estuviera allí.
• Como la oveja que se desvía, Él sigue estando dentro de ti, cuidándote y guiándote.
• Depende de ti aprender a escuchar su voz. Depende de ti alejar las distracciones y ver qué propósito tiene Él para ti en la vida.
• Hasta entonces, somos ovejas perdidas, sin pastor y expuestas a depredadores.
