I Am Part of the Ascension of the Lord / Yo soy parte de la Ascensión del Señor
We learn from the readings on the Feast of the Ascension, that Jesus did come to restore the kingdom to Israel, but it was in God’s plan to include US in His plan.
What they thought was going to be a big superhero moment, ended up being a DISAPPOINTMENT to the apostles, when Jesus didn’t bring out
His magic sword and gamma ray…
Instead He tells them… “It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has established by his own authority. But YOU will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon YOU, and YOU will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Now I know what you are thinking…
How could I have anything to do with something that happened over 2000 years ago?
What can I honestly do to make a difference in someone’s life today?
I don’t read the bible, I am not that good of a Christian and I don’t know anything about how to help others… or do I?
While the superheroes in Marvel are not really a thing, we have all been given a superpower, through the gifts of the Holy Spirit, to use for the good of man…… if used properly of course!
Aprendemos de las lecturas de la Fiesta de la Ascensión que Jesús vino a restaurar el reino de Israel, pero que estaba en el plan de Dios incluirnos en su plan.
Lo que pensaron que sería un gran momento de superhéroes, terminó siendo una DECEPCIÓN para los apóstoles, cuando Jesús no sacó
su espada mágica ni su rayo gamma…
En cambio, les dice: “No les corresponde a ustedes saber los tiempos ni las épocas que el Padre ha establecido con su propia autoridad. Pero recibirán poder cuando el Espíritu Santo venga sobre ustedes, y serán mis testigos en Jerusalén, en toda Judea y Samaria, y hasta los confines de la tierra.”
Ahora sé lo que están pensando…
¿Cómo podría tener algo que ver con algo que sucedió hace más de 2000 años?
¿Qué puedo hacer honestamente para marcar la diferencia en la vida de alguien hoy?
No leo la Biblia, no soy muy buen cristiano y no sé nada sobre cómo ayudar a los demás… ¿o sí?
Si bien los superhéroes de Marvel no son realmente una leyenda, todos hemos recibido un superpoder, a través de los dones del Espíritu Santo, para usarlo en beneficio de la humanidad… si se usa correctamente, claro!
