In todays reading, Jesus said, “I have come to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already blazing. Do you think I have come to establish peace on earth? NO! I bring division.” Luke 12:49-53
Many of us often find ourselves sitting in a dark room occupied by the many things in our lives. Then all of a sudden the lights turn on. and it hurts. Sometimes it makes us mad and we instantly cover our eyes and turn the lights back off. We are so used to being in the dark, literally and figuratively. And sometimes, we don’t even know that we are sitting in the dark, because we are fooled and believe the things we are told by others.
- “Staying in the dark is easier. You get to do what you want and live a better life.”
- “What exactly is the truth? Truth is what you make of it.”
- “Who tells you what is right and wrong. Obviously right and wrong is relative.”
Sin is all around us, but so is God… even though we may not see Him.
It takes the teachings of Jesus to open our eyes. But…
…do we always listen?
Many times, we make choices that are based on what others do or say. Fitting in or going with the flow. Sometimes this dark can even be part of our own family.
God brings light that is sometimes painful, and breaks the fake peace we have around us… shows us the truth.
Living in HIS love and light we can see what our lives truly mean.
- Should I stay in the dark because it is easier?
- Should I do what I want instead of what is right?
- Do I want truth even if it is uncomfortable or might hurt?
- Should I do what is right even though its hard?
The race is hard, but He gives us the strength and courage to finish. Even though it takes some time to adjust to the light, being on fire for God will make a difference in your life.

En la lectura de hoy, Jesús dijo: “He venido a traer fuego a la tierra, ¡y cuánto desearía que ya estuviera ardiendo! ¿Acaso creen que he venido a establecer la paz en la tierra? ¡No! Traigo división”. Lucas 12:49-53
Muchos de nosotros nos encontramos a menudo sentados en una habitación oscura, ocupados con tantas cosas en nuestras vidas. De repente, se encienden las luces y duele. A veces nos enoja y al instante nos tapamos los ojos y apagamos las luces. Estamos tan acostumbrados a estar en la oscuridad, literal y figurativamente. Y a veces, ni siquiera sabemos que estamos sentados en la oscuridad, porque nos dejamos engañar y creemos lo que otros nos dicen.
- Permanecer en la oscuridad es más fácil. Puedes hacer lo que quieras y vivir una vida mejor.
- ¿Qué es exactamente la verdad? La verdad es lo que tú haces con ella.
- ¿Quién te dice lo que está bien y lo que está mal? Obviamente, lo que está bien y lo que está mal es relativo».
El pecado nos rodea, pero también Dios… aunque no lo veamos.
Se necesitan las enseñanzas de Jesús para abrirnos los ojos. Pero…
…¿escuchamos siempre?
Muchas veces, tomamos decisiones basadas en lo que otros hacen o dicen. Adaptarnos o dejarnos llevar. A veces, esta oscuridad puede incluso ser parte de nuestra propia familia.
Dios trae luz, a veces dolorosa, y rompe la falsa paz que tenemos a nuestro alrededor… nos muestra la verdad.
Viviendo en SU amor y luz, podemos ver el verdadero significado de nuestras vidas.
- ¿Debería permanecer en la oscuridad porque es más fácil?
- ¿Debería hacer lo que quiero en lugar de lo que es correcto?
- ¿Quiero la verdad aunque sea incómoda o pueda doler?
- ¿Debo hacer lo correcto aunque sea difícil?
La carrera es dura, pero Él nos da la fuerza y el coraje para terminarla. Aunque lleve tiempo adaptarse a la luz, estar apasionado por Dios marcará la diferencia en tu vida.
