Sometimes I feel that I preach so much and talk so much that I run out of things to say. There are times that at the end of the day the last thing I want to hear is the sound of my own voice. But then, I have a mind that never stops talking.
We especially cry out to God when no one hears us or when we feel that no one wants to hear our cries. The poor in
particular cry out to God. I wonder what those cries sounded like inside that truck in Texas where 46 men, women, and children died and 16 were found unconscious and now struggle for their lives.
Please, let me explain to you why we must all be registered parishioners in our parish community. Although this concept of registering in a parish does not exist in other countries, it does exist in the United States for various reasons.
It has been three years since our parish has celebrated the St. Julia’s Festival. This year we will celebrate it on Saturday and Sunday, August 27 and 28.

1. Godparents/Sponsors/Main Witnesses for Baptism, Confirmation, and Marriage must be baptized Catholics who
practice their faith, have received First Eucharist, have received Confirmation and are married in the Catholic
Church. This is the guidance of the Church by which the Director of Faith Formation and the Pastor are called
to follow and cannot change or make exceptions. Please consider this guidance of the Catholic Church when
selecting the godparents/sponsors and main witnessed for your children or for your wedding.
Thanks to all of you and the generosity that you extended to the parish last year, we finally are able
to install the new light fixtures in the church. They arrived this Thursday and we await word from the
electricians as to when they will be installed. You will immediately see the difference that they will
make to our church.
Leading a faith community is never the work of one person. We are a family that must work together for the wellbeing of all.

We arrive at the great feast of the Resurrection of Our Lord, Jesus, after forty days of sacrifice,
prayer and selfless charitable giving. I hope that we all experienced a strengthening of our kinship with
