Thanks to all of you and the generosity that you extended to the parish last year, we finally are able
to install the new light fixtures in the church. They arrived this Thursday and we await word from the
electricians as to when they will be installed. You will immediately see the difference that they will
make to our church.

The new fence around the cemetery will be installed this coming Monday and Tuesday, weather
permitting. I will soon make an announcement calling for men from the parish to help construct the
raised flower beds around the outer perimeter of the fence. It is my hope that many men will step
forward and help with this heavy labor since the stones that we will use are the stones from the old
stone wall. After the flower beds are completed, we will have to weed the inside of the cemetery,
cover it with a weed barrier and then lay gravel throughout the whole cemetery. We will then plant
the new shrubs and trees to complete the project. It is important that we create a peaceful
atmosphere.

Siler City has requested that we conduct another test related to the materials that we are using in
the construction of the new parking lot. Of course, this comes at a price and it puts us behind
schedule. But, things continue to move forward.

Thanks to an autonomous donation, we now have enough to begin to give the sanctuary of our
church a new look that I hope you will feel proud of and consider beautiful. As I shared with you
before, I was considering doing it myself, but now we can use other materials. I will be going to the
parish community asking the help of those with specific skills. I will let you know.

We now begin to plan for the St. Julia Festival for August 27 and 28. We will now form a Festival
Committee to move us forward. I would like to have an exciting and fun festival that will attract
people from many parts. If you are interested in being part of the Festival Committee, please call the
parish office and let us know. We will get back to you with more information.
