8th Sunday in Ordinary Time: Love Your Enemies?! / ¿Amar a tus enemigos?!
The Blind Leading the Blind?! / ¡¿El ciego guiando a otro ciego?!
What is important to people?
- Someone who talks about themselves values themself.
- Someone who talks about how people and things look, only values appearances
- Our actions show how we think and how we judge
- When we follow someone else, we need to ask if they see clearly, so we do not follow the wrong people.
- Don’t let anger and pride get in the way of our choices and how we act.
- It will lead you away from seeing what is right.
How do I judge?
- People like to tell others about their faults, but we all make mistakes.
- We should look at our own faults before judging and criticizing others on their faults.
- We all need forgiveness and healing, so we should be showing forgiveness and healing toward others.
Good Fruit vs Bad Fruit?
- Good trees bear good fruit. Bad trees bear bad fruit.
- Our actions are the fruit that we produce.
- If someone says they love God, but doesn’t want to go to church, doesn’t pray or follow the commandments, they do not really love God.
- If we say we treat others with love and respect, but act disrespectful to them, then we are not being true to ourselves.
How do we change our path?
- THINK: Before you make a choice…
- How will my decision effect others?
- How will my actions effect others?
- How will my words effect others?
