No one talks a lot about St. Timothy. But he was a very interesting, and someone who I feel was a lot like me.\u00a0 I always feel like I don’t have the right answers because I am still young and even though I have faith and all. Sometimes I dont, but a lot of the time I do because I was taught right by my parents. 1 Tim. 4:1-16<\/em><\/p>\n Counsel to Timothy<\/b><\/p>\n 1\u00a0Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the last times some will turn away from the faith by paying attention to deceitful spirits and demonic instructions<\/p>\n 2\u00a0through the hypocrisy of liars with branded consciences.<\/p>\n 3\u00a0They forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.<\/p>\n 4\u00a0For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected when received with thanksgiving,<\/p>\n 5\u00a0for it is made holy by the invocation of God in prayer.<\/p>\n 6 If you will give these instructions to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound teaching you have followed.<\/p>\n 7\u00a0Avoid profane and silly myths. Train yourself for devotion,<\/p>\n 8\u00a0for, while physical training is of limited value, devotion is valuable in every respect, since it holds a promise of life both for the present and for the future.<\/p>\n 9\u00a0This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance.<\/p>\n 10\u00a0For this we toil and struggle,\u00a04<\/sup>\u00a0because we have set our hope on the living God, who is the savior of all, especially of those who believe.<\/p>\n 11 Command and teach these things.<\/p>\n 12\u00a0Let no one have contempt for your youth,\u00a06<\/sup>\u00a0but set an example for those who believe, in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.<\/p>\n 13\u00a0Until I arrive, attend to the reading,\u00a07<\/sup>\u00a0exhortation, and teaching.<\/p>\n 14\u00a0Do not neglect the gift you have, which was conferred on you through the prophetic word\u00a08<\/sup>\u00a0with the imposition of hands of the presbyterate.<\/p>\n 15\u00a0Be diligent in these matters, be absorbed in them, so that your progress may be evident to everyone.<\/p>\n 16\u00a0Attend to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in both tasks, for by doing so you will save both yourself and those who listen to you.<\/p>\n
