We Are Blessed<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Bishop\u2019s Annual Appeal is about to begin again and we, at St. Julia, have already surpassed our goal! How did we do that? How did we do it without making a big deal out of it? We did it slowly, carefully, setting money aside every week and every month with a monthly second collection, with gifts and donations from individuals and families. All in all, we did it by the beautiful, peaceful, and organic generosity of all of you. We can feel humbly proud of having done our part in contributing to the Catholic family of our Diocese. I\u2019m very proud and grateful to all of us.<\/p>\n

What would we do without US!<\/p>\n

Now, I have to address an issue closer to home. As you know, we\u2019ve closed the church for the last two weekends due to weather conditions. Not celebrating weekend Masses means not coming together as a faith family and not having a collection for two weeks. OUCH!<\/strong> <\/em>And that is indeed a big deal<\/strong> with us especially as we prepare to begin Phase I of the Master Plan.<\/p>\n

Our parish\u2019s monthly expenses total around $33,000.00. I imagine that many of you did not realize that. When we miss two Sunday collections like we did the last two weekends, it means that we did not collect a minimum of $15,000.00. That puts us in a difficult situation.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t do this much, but I\u2019m going to ask that we try to be a little more generous than usual during our weekend Mass collections during the month of February. Let\u2019s see how much of those $15,000.00 we can recuperate. And, if you have any other ideas as to how we can do it, please let me or our Finance Council know.<\/p>\n

La Campa\u00f1a Anual del Obispo est\u00e1 a punto de comenzar de nuevo y nosotros, en la parroquia de Santa Julia, \u00a1ya hemos superado nuestra meta! \u00bfC\u00f3mo lo logramos? \u00bfC\u00f3mo lo hicimos sin hacer mucho alboroto? Lo hicimos poco a poco, con cuidado, ahorrando dinero cada semana y cada mes con una segunda colecta mensual, con donaciones de individuos y familias. En resumen, lo logramos gracias a la hermosa, pac\u00edfica y espont\u00e1nea generosidad de todos ustedes. Podemos sentirnos humildemente orgullosos de haber contribuido a la familia cat\u00f3lica de nuestra Di\u00f3cesis. Estoy muy orgulloso y agradecido con todos ustedes.<\/p>\n

Ahora, debo abordar un asunto m\u00e1s cercano. Como saben, hemos cerrado la iglesia durante los \u00faltimos dos fines de semana debido a las condiciones clim\u00e1ticas. No celebrar las misas de fin de semana significa no reunirnos como familia de fe y no tener colecta durante dos semanas. \u00a1Qu\u00e9 pena!<\/strong> Y esto es realmente un problema<\/strong> para nosotros, especialmente ahora que nos preparamos para comenzar la Fase I del Plan Maestro.<\/p>\n

Los gastos mensuales de nuestra parroquia ascienden a alrededor de $33,000.00. Imagino que muchos de ustedes no lo sab\u00edan.
