He is the head of the body, which means He is the leader of the world and our church.<\/p>\n<p>He has the fullness of God, because He <strong>&#8220;is&#8221;<\/strong> God. This makes Him our King.<\/p>\n<p>During the crucifixion, (<a href=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/luke\/23?35\">Luke 23:35-43<\/a> ) Jesus doesn&#8217;t use His power to save Himself from the cross.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, He offered a <em><strong>S<\/strong><strong><em>a<\/em>crificial <\/strong><strong>Love, <\/strong><\/em>which\u00a0is the most powerful kind of love. It is\u00a0a <strong>LOVE<\/strong> that <strong>LOVES<\/strong>, even when it is painful and inconvenient.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">What does this mean in my life?<\/h4>\n<p>In our lives we are called to a higher power, to lead in His example. To show this same kind of love to others in our everyday actions and bring ourselves closer to God and share HIS love with others.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>How do I know if my example is true?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<div class=\"zMgcWd dSKvsb\" data-il=\"\">\n<div data-crb-p=\"\">\n<div class=\"xFTqob\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"Gur8Ad\">Is it Sacrificial? It means you choose to give up something you want (like your time, your turn, or your comfort) so someone else can be happy or helped.<\/li>\n<li class=\"Gur8Ad\">It&#8217;s Painful\/Inconvenient It means you still choose to love someone even when it&#8217;s hard or when they don&#8217;t deserve it (like when they are mean, or when you are tired).<\/li>\n<li class=\"Gur8Ad\">It Shows True Strength It takes much more courage and inner strength to be kind when it&#8217;s hard than it does to just be kind when it&#8217;s easy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>How do I show Sacrificial Love in my life?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>Practicing Sacrificial Love in Daily Life<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Love of Inconvenience and Effort<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This type of love involves willingly <strong>setting aside your own comfort, time, or agenda<\/strong> for the benefit of another.\n<ul>\n<li>Offer practical help: Don&#8217;t just say <strong>&#8220;let me know if you need anything.&#8221;<\/strong> Instead, <strong>do something concrete and unasked-for<\/strong>, like bringing over a meal to a stressed neighbor, offering to babysit for a tired friend, or driving an elderly relative to an appointment that requires you to use your lunch break.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Give your undivided time:<\/strong> Listen fully to someone who is hurting or struggling, even if you are busy or mentally exhausted. The &#8220;pain&#8221; here is giving up your precious time and mental energy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Love of Forbearance and Patience<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This addresses the <strong>&#8220;painful&#8221; aspect of loving people who are difficult, annoying, or who have wronged you<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Practice radical forgiveness:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Forgive someone<\/strong> who has hurt you, even when they haven&#8217;t asked for it or don&#8217;t deserve it.<\/li>\n<li>This is a profound act of releasing your own desire for justice or retribution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Respond to rudeness with kindness<\/strong>: When someone is short-tempered or judgmental, choose not to react in kind. Instead of using your power to retaliate with a sharp word, respond with grace and seek to understand the pain behind their action.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Love of Humility and Preference<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This involves <strong>denying your own ego<\/strong> and prioritizing the needs and dignity of the other person.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Take the lower position: In an argument<\/strong>, be the first to apologize or seek reconciliation, even if you feel you are mostly right.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Celebrate their success:<\/strong> Genuinely rejoice in the good fortune of others, without jealousy or comparison.\n<ul>\n<li>The sacrifice here is <strong>giving up your own need<\/strong> to be the center of attention or the most successful.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Protect &#8220;their&#8221; reputation:<\/strong> Refuse to gossip or speak ill of someone, especially when they are not present to defend themselves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Love of Selfless Giving<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This is about <strong>giving what is valuable<\/strong> to you <strong>without expecting anything in return.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Give anonymously<\/strong>: Support a cause or help an individual without telling anyone or seeking recognition. The sacrifice is giving up the &#8220;reward&#8221; of praise or thanks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Serve the marginalized<\/strong>: Extend love to those whom society overlooks or rejects\u2014the lonely, the poor, the sick, or the outsider.
