To Our English-Speaking People that Worship in English<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Hi! I try not to use the terms \u201cEnglish-speaking community and Spanish-speaking community\u201d because here at St. Julia we are just One Community who speak many languages.
\nThe Spanish-speaking people who worship in Spanish is a much larger group. Are they more important than the English-speaking people who worship in English?
\nAbsolutely not!<\/p>\n

Everyone here at St. Julia is equally welcomed, loved, appreciated, respected, and needed. That\u2019s who we are: a bunch of wonderful Catholics of diverse backgrounds and abilities who dare to create and recreate One Community of Believers<\/strong> with the hope of getting to know one another and become friends too.<\/p>\n

What a wonderful thing to be a part of! But it\u2019s very challenging for this pastor and because of that, and my desire to make sure that your parish is good and nourishing for you, I really need your help.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m speaking today directly to the English-speaking people that worship in English.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m sorry. I don\u2019t read minds. I don\u2019t have special powers. I don\u2019t really know what you really want and need to be available to you in our parish besides what we already offer unless you tell me.
\nPlease, come and talk with me and let me know what you desire to see happen here for you.
\nYou see, I need your input so that I don\u2019t initiate anything that you are either not interested in or don\u2019t need.
\nTalk to me, please, and share your ideas and wants with me. Let me know your talents and interests.<\/strong>
\nWould you like to start a Catholic Women of St. Julia Wine-Tasting Sanctification Group, The League of Catholic Men Hunters, Catholic Plumbers and Steel Workers for World Peace, The St. Julia Rascals Skate-Boarding Tournament, Catholic Women Steamrollers in Support of the Poor, or The St. Julia Catholic Mamas Motorcycle Club? I\u2019m totally open to new ideas.<\/p>\n

As our parish family continues to grow, we need to keep things interesting around here and we may need to go where we\u2019ve never gone before. New ideas can be life-giving.
\nI want you to know that I\u2019m not one of those people or pastors that says: \u201cdon\u2019t rock the boat, why fix it if it ain\u2019t broke, that\u2019s the way we\u2019ve always done it, challenges are not needed.\u201d
\nOh, Lord, spare me from being such a bore! As the parish family continues to grow and mature, so must the various opportunities in the parish also grow and mature.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So, talk to me, my dear people. Speak up and let\u2019s have fun building something wonderful together.
\nI am also available to meet in your homes, a coffee place, or in a submarine. Just let me know. You can even keep it simple and grab me after Mass.<\/p>\n

\u00a1Hola! Intento no usar los t\u00e9rminos “comunidad angloparlante” y “comunidad hispanoparlante” porque aqu\u00ed en Santa Julia somos una sola comunidad que habla muchos idiomas.
\nLa comunidad hispanohablante que celebra su culto en espa\u00f1ol es un grupo mucho m\u00e1s grande. \u00bfSon m\u00e1s importantes que la comunidad angloparlante que celebra su culto en ingl\u00e9s?
\n\u00a1Para nada!<\/p>\n

Aqu\u00ed en Santa Julia, todos somos igualmente bienvenidos, amados, apreciados, respetados y necesarios. Eso es lo que somos: un grupo de maravillosos cat\u00f3licos de diversos or\u00edgenes y capacidades que se atreven a crear y recrear una sola comunidad de creyentes<\/strong> con la esperanza de conocernos y tambi\u00e9n hacernos amigos.<\/p>\n

\u00a1Qu\u00e9 maravilloso ser parte de esto! Pero es un gran desaf\u00edo para este p\u00e1rroco y, por eso, y por mi deseo de asegurarme de que su parroquia sea buena y enriquecedora para ustedes, realmente necesito su ayuda.<\/p>\n

Hoy me dirijo directamente a la comunidad angloparlante que celebra su culto en ingl\u00e9s.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lo siento. No leo la mente. No tengo poderes especiales. No s\u00e9 realmente qu\u00e9 quieren ni necesitan que est\u00e9 disponible en nuestra parroquia, adem\u00e1s de lo que ya ofrecemos, a menos que me lo digas.
\nPor favor, ven a hablar conmigo y dime qu\u00e9 deseas que suceda aqu\u00ed.
\nVer\u00e1s, necesito tu opini\u00f3n para no iniciar nada que no te interese o que no necesites.

\n\u00bfTe gustar\u00eda fundar un Grupo de Santificaci\u00f3n de Cata de Vinos de las Mujeres Cat\u00f3licas de Santa Julia, la Liga de Cazadores de Hombres Cat\u00f3licos, Fontaneros y Trabajadores del Acero Cat\u00f3licos por la Paz Mundial, el Torneo de Patinetas de los Rascals de Santa Julia, las Mujeres Cat\u00f3licas Aplanadoras en Apoyo a los Pobres o el Club de Motociclistas de las Mam\u00e1s Cat\u00f3licas de Santa Julia? Estoy totalmente abierto a nuevas ideas.<\/p>\n

A medida que nuestra familia parroquial crece, necesitamos mantener el inter\u00e9s y quiz\u00e1s tengamos que ir a donde nunca antes hemos ido. Las nuevas ideas pueden ser vivificantes.
