Palm Sunday is known as such because we all receive palm fronds which are use to participate in this reenactment.

This was a customary practice for people of great respect, as palm branches are recognized symbol of peace and victory, hence their use on Palm Sunday.

The donkey is highly symbolic, as it represents the humble arrival of someone in peace, as opposed to arriving on a horse in war. Later, Christ would rise from the dead on the first Easter.

During Palm Sunday Mass, blessed palms are distributed to people who carry them into church. Many fashion them into small crosses or other items of personal devotion and hung in honorable places at home. These palms are then returned to the church, or kept for the year.

Since these palms are blessed, they should NOT be discarded as trash. Instead, they should be gathered at the church and burned to create the ashes that will be used in the follow year’s Ash Wednesday observance, or burned and buried at home.
The colors of the Mass on Palm Sunday are red and white, symbolizing the redemption in blood that Christ paid for the world.

(Click on image to watch video/Haga clic en la imagen) What is the meaning of… Palm Sunday and Holy Week Palm Sunday is the final Sunday of Lent, and the beginning of…

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

208

post-9151","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-youth-stories
https://i0.wp.com/stjuliasilercity.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Hosanna-In-the-Highest-e1756827315261.png?fit=500%2C500&ssl=1
["GET
