\"Franciscan<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 We took 53 young people to the Franciscan Retreat: Assisi on the Chesapeake. It was a great experience. We first went to Washington DC where we spent the day at a couple of museums and went to see the National Cathedral. The second day was spent at Hershey Park. That was a lot of fun. Then, we traveled to the retreat in Maryland from Friday afternoon until Sunday. As soon as we arrived at St. Julia at 11:30 pm, the heavens opened up and we were hit with a severe storm, but we have no complaints. Everything went according to schedule, we had a great and rewarding time, and we returned safe and sound.<\/p>\n

2. In last week\u2019s \u201cFrom the Heart\u201d I spoke about retreats and workshops for our parish community. I\u2019m ready to put together two groups that will organize and provide these retreats for the parish. One group will organize the Spanish retreats and the other group will organize the English retreats. If you are interested in serving the community by being a member of one of these committees, please call the office and offer your name and contact information. We can\u2019t do it without you!<\/p>\n

3. As I had informed you, this year we are taking a totally different approach to meeting our responsibility for the Bishop\u2019s Annual Appeal. We have already started putting money toward meeting our goal. We will now begin a monthly second collection for the Bishop\u2019s Annual Appeal. I ask you to be as generous as you possibly can. This second collection is part of the overall new way of raising the funds.<\/p>\n

4. The Master Plan Committee is now ready to send to the Diocese our choice of the Architectural Firm we have chosen to work with. Upon the Diocese\u2019s approval we will move toward drawing up the plans for what we hope to build in the near future.<\/p>\n

5. The Master Plan Committee will now evolve into the Future Build Committee. We would like to have two members from our Hispanic congregation to become members of this Committee. I would like for them to be familiar with some aspect of construction and preferably, if they also speak English. If you do not speak English, but would like to be part of this committee, please, know that you are welcomed and needed. We will have a translator at the meetings of the Committee. Let the Pastor know of your interest by calling the office and leaving your name and contact information. I and the parish really need you!<\/p>\n

6. The theme for our Capital Campaign, once it begins is: \u201cBe Not Afraid. We Build By Faith.\u201d<\/p>\n

7. Lastly\u2026as we face our future today, let us never underestimate the power of our parish family. Our success depends largely on our unity and our generosity. Yet, our faith in God and in one another is the fire that kindles our determination to desire and for work for the future of our parish family and those that will follow behind us. Please place all our endeavors before the Lord in prayer. What we are about to undertake in our Future Build and our Capital Campaign is a living prayer of trust in God and in one another. And for all of these opportunities, we give thanks to God for allowing us to be part of building up the Kingdom of God.<\/p>\n

1. Llevamos a 53 j\u00f3venes al Retiro Franciscano: As\u00eds en Chesapeake. Fue una gran experiencia. Primero fuimos a Washington DC, donde pasamos el d\u00eda en un par de museos y fuimos a ver la Catedral Nacional. El segundo d\u00eda lo pasamos en Hershey Park. Eso fue muy divertido. Luego, viajamos al retiro en Maryland desde el viernes por la tarde hasta el domingo. Tan pronto como llegamos a St. Julia a las 11:30 pm, el cielo se abri\u00f3 y nos azot\u00f3 una fuerte tormenta, pero no tenemos ninguna queja. Todo sali\u00f3 seg\u00fan lo previsto, lo pasamos genial y gratificante y regresamos
\nsanos y salvos.<\/p>\n

2. En Desde el Coraz\u00f3n \u201d de la semana pasada habl\u00e9 sobre retiros y talleres para nuestra comunidad parroquial. Estoy listo para formar dos grupos que organizar\u00e1n y brindar\u00e1n estos retiros para la parroquia. Un grupo organizar\u00e1 los retiros en espa\u00f1ol y el otro grupo organizar\u00e1 los retiros en ingl\u00e9s. Si est\u00e1 interesado en servir a la comunidad siendo miembro de uno de estos comit\u00e9s, llame a la oficina y ofrezca su nombre e informaci\u00f3n de contacto. \u00a1No podemos hacerlo sin ti!<\/p>\n

3. Como les hab\u00eda informado, este a\u00f1o estamos adoptando un enfoque totalmente diferente para cumplir con nuestra responsabilidad de la Campa\u00f1a Anual del Obispo. Ya hemos comenzado a invertir dinero para alcanzar nuestra meta. Ahora comenzaremos una segunda colecta mensual para la Campa\u00f1a Anual del Obispo. Les pido que sean lo m\u00e1s generosos que puedan. Esta segunda colecta es parte de la nueva forma general de recaudar fondos.<\/p>\n

4. El Comit\u00e9 del Plan Maestro ahora est\u00e1 listo para enviar a la Di\u00f3cesis nuestra elecci\u00f3n de la firma de arquitectos con la que hemos elegido trabajar. Tras la aprobaci\u00f3n de la Di\u00f3cesis, avanzaremos hacia la elaboraci\u00f3n de los planes de lo que esperamos construir en el futuro cercano.<\/p>\n

5. El Comit\u00e9 del Plan Maestro ahora evolucionar\u00e1 hacia el Comit\u00e9 de Construcci\u00f3n Futura. Nos gustar\u00eda tener dos miembros de nuestra congregaci\u00f3n hispana para que sean miembros de este Comit\u00e9. Me gustar\u00eda que est\u00e9n familiarizados con alg\u00fan aspecto de la construcci\u00f3n y de preferencia que tambi\u00e9n hablen ingl\u00e9s. Si no habla ingl\u00e9s, pero le gustar\u00eda ser parte de este comit\u00e9, sepa que es bienvenido y necesario. Contaremos con un traductor en las reuniones del Comit\u00e9. H\u00e1gale saber al pastor su inter\u00e9s llamando a la oficina y dejando su nombre e informaci\u00f3n de contacto.

6. El tema de nuestra Campa\u00f1a Capital, una vez que comience, es: “No teman. Construimos por fe”.<\/p>\n

7. Por \u00faltimo \u2026 al enfrentar nuestro futuro hoy, nunca subestimemos el poder de nuestra familia parroquial. Nuestro \u00e9xito depende en gran medida de nuestra unidad y nuestra generosidad. Sin embargo, nuestra fe en Dios y en los dem\u00e1s es el fuego que enciende nuestra determinaci\u00f3n de desear y trabajar por el futuro de nuestra familia parroquial y de aquellos que nos seguir\u00e1n. Por favor, coloque todos nuestros esfuerzos ante el Se\u00f1or en oraci\u00f3n. Lo que estamos a punto de emprender en nuestra Construcci\u00f3n Futura y nuestra Campa\u00f1a Capital es una oraci\u00f3n viva de confianza en Dios y en los dem\u00e1s. Y por todas estas oportunidades, damos gracias a Dios por permitirnos ser parte de la construcci\u00f3n del Reino de Dios.<\/p>\n
