My Last Petition As Pastor<\/h3>\n

The \u201cwhole\u201d of anything is the sum of its parts.\u00a0 So it is with an individual person, a family, a community, and a parish family.<\/p>\n

The parish family of St. Julia has always distinguished itself as a community that is welcoming, open, and cooperative.\u00a0 In reality, this parish is greatly blessed with so many individuals who contribute in so many ways in making us who we are today.\u00a0 Our welcoming openness to everyone, our approach to the diversity that is part of who we are, and our genuine desire for God are characteristics that we have nurtured for years.\u00a0 They live first in our hearts and then they extend to others.\u00a0 Never underestimate the power of an open and welcoming community.\u00a0 Such places make it easier for people to encounter God in many beautiful ways, heal in ways that sometimes escape the gaze of many, and eases the loneliness that some may feel.\u00a0 An open and welcoming community mirrors the heart of God.<\/p>\n

Do everything you can to keep it alive among yourselves and in this sacred place.<\/p>\n

As you go forward, go forward together.\u00a0 Nurture the spirit of family among the parish members so that whatever lies ahead is faced together.\u00a0 The more united you are, the more success you will have in seeing to it that the parish family maintains its beautiful Catholic Christian identity in word and truth and that your faith community is maintained as a beacon of light and love in the greater local community.<\/p>\n

Everything that happens in the life of a parish counts.\u00a0 Everything has meaning and purpose and it should always be at the service of Jesus\u2019 message of peace and liberation from so many negative things that afflict our society and world.\u00a0 Do what you can to create a place of peace and rest here at St. Julia.\u00a0 Make it always a place where everyone feels that they belong and are acknowledged and appreciated.\u00a0 Make it a place of joy and happiness where your children feel comfortable and loved.\u00a0 Make it a place where you can draw strength from one another.\u00a0 Make it a place where it will always be easy for everyone to meet God in the funny disguise of who we are.\u00a0 Let your words always bring comfort to others.\u00a0 May the way you greet each other make everyone feel embraced.\u00a0 Dare always to be respectful and kind with one another.\u00a0 Don\u2019t just walk by or walk away after Mass.\u00a0 Make it your desire to reach out and introduce yourself and meet people you do not know.\u00a0 Make this place sacred and special for yourselves and your families.<\/p>\n

The above, is my last petition as pastor.\u00a0 May you always be filled with inner peace so that you can listen to the voice of God within you which speaks as softly as the whisper of a butterfly.<\/p>\n

Mi \u00faltima petici\u00f3n como p\u00e1rroco<\/h3>\n

El “todo” de cualquier cosa es la suma de sus partes. As\u00ed sucede con una persona, una familia, una comunidad y una familia parroquial.<\/p>\n

La familia parroquial de Santa Julia siempre se ha distinguido por ser una comunidad acogedora, abierta y colaboradora. En realidad, esta parroquia est\u00e1 profundamente bendecida con tantas personas que contribuyen de diversas maneras a hacernos quienes somos hoy. Nuestra apertura acogedora hacia todos, nuestra actitud ante la diversidad que forma parte de nuestra identidad y nuestro deseo sincero de Dios son caracter\u00edsticas que hemos cultivado durante a\u00f1os. Estas cualidades viven primero en nuestros corazones y luego se extienden a los dem\u00e1s. Nunca subestimen el poder de una comunidad abierta y acogedora. Tales lugares facilitan que las personas encuentren a Dios de muchas formas hermosas, sanen de maneras que a veces escapan a la mirada de muchos y alivien la soledad que algunos puedan sentir. Una comunidad abierta y acogedora refleja el coraz\u00f3n de Dios.<\/p>\n

Hagan todo lo posible por mantener vivo este esp\u00edritu entre ustedes y en este lugar sagrado.<\/p>\n

Al avanzar, avancen juntos. Cultiven el esp\u00edritu de familia entre los miembros de la parroquia para que afronten unidos lo que les depare el futuro. Cuanto m\u00e1s unidos est\u00e9n, m\u00e1s \u00e9xito tendr\u00e1n en asegurar que la familia parroquial mantenga su hermosa identidad cat\u00f3lica cristiana \u2014en palabra y en verdad\u2014 y que su comunidad de fe se conserve como un faro de luz y amor para la comunidad local en general.<\/p>\n

Todo lo que sucede en la vida de una parroquia cuenta. Todo tiene sentido y prop\u00f3sito, y siempre debe estar al servicio del mensaje de paz y liberaci\u00f3n de Jes\u00fas frente a tantas cosas negativas que afligen a nuestra sociedad y al mundo. Hagan lo posible por crear un lugar de paz y descanso aqu\u00ed en Santa Julia. Que sea siempre un lugar donde todos sientan que pertenecen, que son reconocidos y valorados. Que sea un lugar de alegr\u00eda y felicidad donde sus hijos se sientan c\u00f3modos y amados. Que sea un lugar donde puedan fortalecerse mutuamente. Que sea un lugar donde a todos les resulte f\u00e1cil encontrarse con Dios a trav\u00e9s de la peculiar realidad de lo que somos. Que sus palabras siempre brinden consuelo a los dem\u00e1s. Que la forma en que se saludan haga que todos se sientan acogidos. Atr\u00e9vanse siempre a ser respetuosos y amables los unos con los otros. No se limiten a pasar de largo o marcharse despu\u00e9s de la Misa. Prop\u00f3nganse acercarse, presentarse y conocer a personas que no conocen. Hagan de este lugar un sitio sagrado y especial para ustedes y sus familias.<\/p>\n

Esta es mi \u00faltima petici\u00f3n como p\u00e1rroco. Que siempre est\u00e9n llenos de paz interior para que puedan escuchar la voz de Dios en su interior, la cual habla tan suavemente como el susurro de una mariposa.<\/p>\n
