RECOGNIZING OUR NEEDS<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In 2022 our pastor, Friar Julio, established the Master Plan Steering Committee (MPSC) to develop, in compliance with diocesan requirements, a Master Plan for future building projects to meet the needs of a growing Parish.<\/p>\n

The first step in the development of a Master Plan involved conducting a Self-Study to assess the ability of our current facilities to meet Parish needs and to project facilities needs for the next 30 years. Over 18 months, the MPSC looked at expected growth for Chatham County and for our parish community, based on government projections and parish enrollment records. It identified current and future shortcomings in our parish facilities and considered options for meeting those needs.<\/p>\n

After evaluating the pros and cons of different approaches to meeting the parish\u2019s needs for liturgical and community space, the MPSC determined that our first priority should be the building of a Parish Center to provide adequate community, classroom, meeting, gathering and event space for current activities and expansion of programs in critical areas. A Parish Center with a large assembly area would also provide additional worship space, as needed, for our growing community.<\/p>\n

The MPSC also identified the need for installation of a columbarium on the parish property to provide parishioners with the opportunity to have their cremated remains interred in proximity to their church. With the population influx planned for Chatham County, local internment options are likely to become more limited and expensive. Following review and approval by the Pastoral Council, Finance Council, and pastor, the Building and Real Estate Commission and Bishop of the Diocese of Raleigh approved the Self-Study in September 2023, and gave the parish permission to hire an architect to work with us to create a 30 year Master Plan.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n

RECONOCIENDO NUESTRAS NECESIDADES<\/strong><\/h3>\n

En 2022, nuestro p\u00e1rroco, Fray Julio, estableci\u00f3 el Comit\u00e9 Directivo del Plan Maestro (CDPM) para desarrollar, de conformidad con los requisitos diocesanos, un Plan Maestro para futuros proyectos de construcci\u00f3n que satisfagan las necesidades de una parroquia en crecimiento.<\/p>\n

El primer paso en el desarrollo de un Plan Maestro consisti\u00f3 en realizar un autoestudio para evaluar la capacidad de nuestras instalaciones actuales para satisfacer las necesidades de la parroquia y proyectar las necesidades de instalaciones para los pr\u00f3ximos 30 a\u00f1os. Durante 18 meses, el CDPM analiz\u00f3 el crecimiento esperado para el condado de Chatham y para nuestra comunidad parroquial, bas\u00e1ndose en las proyecciones gubernamentales y los registros de inscripci\u00f3n parroquial. Identific\u00f3 las deficiencias actuales y futuras en nuestras instalaciones parroquiales y consider\u00f3 opciones para satisfacer dichas necesidades.<\/p>\n

Tras evaluar las ventajas y desventajas de los diferentes enfoques para satisfacer las necesidades de la parroquia en cuanto a espacio lit\u00fargico y comunitario, el CDPM determin\u00f3 que nuestra primera prioridad deb\u00eda ser la construcci\u00f3n de un Centro Parroquial que proporcionara un espacio adecuado para la comunidad, aulas, reuniones, encuentros y eventos, para las actividades actuales y la expansi\u00f3n de los programas en \u00e1reas cr\u00edticas. Un Centro Parroquial con una amplia zona de reuniones tambi\u00e9n proporcionar\u00eda espacio adicional para el culto, seg\u00fan sea necesario, para nuestra creciente comunidad.<\/p>\n

El CDPM tambi\u00e9n identific\u00f3 la necesidad de instalar un columbario en la propiedad parroquial para que los feligreses puedan inhumar sus restos cerca de su iglesia. Con la afluencia de poblaci\u00f3n prevista para el condado de Chatham, es probable que las opciones locales de entierro se vuelvan m\u00e1s limitadas y costosas.
